Independent 3D studio

3D models that move. Rigs that hold up.

REFT is a two-person 3D studio run by Parneeth and Sarujan. We model products for companies, build T-rig characters that are ready to animate, and sell our work to businesses, software teams, individual buyers and clients who want something made to order.

01 What we make

Modelled, rigged and shipped.

Three kinds of work, all handled by the same two people from the first sketch to the final file. Nothing is subcontracted, so the person you brief is the person who builds it.

    03 How it works

    From brief to final file.

Every project follows the same five stages. You see the work at each one, so nothing surprises you at the end.

    1. 01

      Brief

We talk through what you need, where the model will be used, and which file formats and level of detail your pipeline expects.

    2. 02

      Blockout

We build rough shapes first, so we can agree on proportions and scale before any detail goes in.

    3. 03

      Model

We add the detail: clean topology, UVs and materials, checked in clay and wireframe as well as the final render.

    4. 04

      Rig

For characters, we build the skeleton in T-pose, skin the mesh and test it in a range of poses before handing it over.

    5. 05

      Deliver

We export in the formats your engine or website needs, and make revisions until the model is right.

    05 Selected work

    Things we've shipped.

Products we designed, built and launched ourselves. Each one was a two-person job, from the first commit to the live site, and each one shows how we think about precision, honesty and detail.

    MindEase

A web companion that notices when someone's mood is drifting down, tells them so honestly, and deliberately works to become less necessary over time.

    The problem

Most chat companions are designed to keep you talking. MindEase is built the other way round: it measures how much someone relies on it and pulls back as that reliance grows, pointing them towards the people in their life instead.

    What we built

    • Mood reading that combines what people write, how they sound and how they type, tracked across eight emotional axes.
    • A trend engine in which four statistical detectors vote on whether someone is really declining. Two must agree before it acts.
    • Check-ins with strict limits: consent, quiet hours, daily caps, and a hard stop after three unanswered messages.
    • Long-term memory of the people, events and goals someone mentions, which they can review and delete item by item.
    • Crisis triage that runs before the AI on every message, with helpline numbers hard-coded rather than generated.

    Website · Weather · Notifications

    Chennai Rains

A website that watches the sky over Chennai and tells you, on a schedule you choose, whether it's going to rain on you, including on the days it won't.

    The problem

Weather apps go quiet on dry days, so you can never tell whether they're still working. Chennai Rains sends a notification at every interval, rain or not, and on dry days it delivers the news with a joke.

    What we built

    • Coverage of 39 localities, all within a 20 km radius of Chennai Central, grouped into five zones.
    • Forecasts from Open-Meteo: current conditions, a 12-hour nowcast in 15-minute steps, 48 hours hourly and 7 days daily.
    • A 3D globe, built with Three.js, that zooms from the whole world down to the 20 km ring around the city.
    • Push notifications on a schedule each person picks, plus a "use my location" option.
    • Honesty about precision: each locality shows how far away its forecast grid point is, and which localities share one.

    Seeing Gamakas

A tool that turns the ornaments of Carnatic singing into 3D geometry you can fly around while the music plays.

    The problem

In Indian classical singing, much of the meaning lives in the movement between notes, the gamakas. Standard notation and ordinary pitch tools throw that movement away.

    What we built

    • Pitch measured in cents above the singer's tonic, with every 12 ms of audio drawn as a point in 3D space.
    • Automatic tonic detection, which found the same tonic, 149.3 Hz, independently on two different recordings.
    • Optional source separation with Demucs, so songs with instruments are analysed on the voice alone.
    • Drag-and-drop analysis of your own recordings in WAV, MP3, OGG, FLAC or AIFF.
    • Uploads that go straight to cloud storage, which gets full-length songs past the 4.5 MB serverless limit.
